So sad

Well back in May I got into the St. George Marathon, and I was SO excited since last summer I was pregnant and not able to run it. So, I was all excited to train really well and have a good race. About 3 months or so ago I was playing basketball and rolled my ankle ever so slightly. It did not swell or anything, just hurt a little and I was able to keep playing. Then all of a sudden it started to hurt whenever I would run. I kept trying to run and the pain was just unbearable. So I have not been running for about 3 months nor training for the Marathon. I have been to a doctor, did x-rays, ultrasound. NOTHING!!! All they found was a little fluid in the bursa sack around my Achilles tendon. Still does not explain the pain. So, now I am going to Physical Therapy and trying anything I can to fix this. But SO SAD, I am not going to be able to run the Marathon. I am so bummed, but there is nothing I can do. I am still going to go down to St. George collect my T-shirt and at least pretend I am going to run it. Sadly I won't get my medal, but if I have the shirt, I at least look cool right?

Happy 6th Birthday Matthew !!

THANK YOU Grandma and Grandpa Cottle and Grandma and Grandpa Bone. He got some money and Gift cards and picked out the storm trooper helmet and gun from Star Wars.

Matthew had a great birthday. We started off the morning with his request of waffles with blueberry syrup, then off to school where he brought some treats in. Then after school he anxiously awaited for dad to get home so he could open his present. He has been asking and asking and asking for the the millennium falcon from Star Wars. So that's what we got him. It's kind of funny because it's so big he can hardly pick it up. But he LOVES it, he was sooooo excited when he got it. Then off we went for a gormet dinner at McDonalds. We had some friends meet us there and they brought cupcakes for the kiddo's. Then we went to the store so he could pick out his gift ( storm trooper helmet and gun) and headed home to watch Star Wars and have more junk, as if we had not had enough. It was such a fun Birthday and I can not Believe you are already 6. Now to get ready for more Birthday tomorrow!!! (Stay tuned for part 2)

We are moving =(

Well, I never thought I would say this, but I am very sad to be leaving Arvada. I have made so many good friends here, and words can not say how much I am going to miss my ward here. When we first moved in i was quick to judge and thought I was not going to make any friends, because the ward was so small and not to many young families. Then as I discovered they were all in the primary, nursurey and young womens. The friends I have made and the ward is something I will never forget, and they will be greatly missed. Sometime during the middle of October we are moving to Durango CO. Jeff got a wonderful opportunity to work there, and we are excited and hesitant at the same time. It's hard for me to change, and I am sad for the kids because I LOVE their teachers and school's. I know they will adjust better than me though. I know for some reason we are supposed to be there, so it makes me excited for this new adventure we are about to take.

Matthew's first day of school

I don't know why, I can't get a normal smile out of this kid

Matthew started 1st grade on Monday, and it was a sad yet happy day! If you have been there done that, you know how weird it is to have your first child gone all day. I kind of feel guilty doing fun things when he is not home. You did really well on your first day though, you came home happy and that's all that counts!

Teacher: Mrs. Williams
Things you enjoyed: Having 2 recess, eating lunch at school, painting

Breckenridge

A few weeks ago we decided to take a trip up to breckenridge and take a ride on the ski lift. The kids had a really good time playing in the river, and especially riding the lift. They also have ana alpine slide, a giant trampoline, bounce houses and other activities to do.

New Orleans (Aug 2- 5 2009)

My Friend Kristel Liddle lives in New Orleans, came to visit us the first of July and then headed off to to Utah for about a month. She called me, because she had no one to drive back with her and her 3 kids and asked if I would. I really like road trips, and I really wanted to go and visit her and see where she lives, so I said yes. I decided to take Matthew with me as well on our great adventure. We knew the Liddle's from dental school, and Matthew and her Daughters Anna, and Janie all used to play together pretty much every day, although they don't remember because they were so young. So we left for our adventure on Sunday, and drove to Fort Worth Texas to stay at my sis in laws house for the night. We ended up being in the car for 14 hours that day. Wheww what a long day! The next morning we headed out for the rest of our drive and got there about 4 in the afternoon. It really was a good trip and all of the kids were really good for being in the car for 2 days. We were able to stay a few days and see as much of New Orleans as we could fit in, then flew back to Colorado on Wed. Thank you so much Kristel and Justin for the fun time. It was so good to see you!!
Matthew on the plane. He was soooooo excited!

A GIANT cricket!

We went on a walk on day in the swamps to try and find crocodiles, and instead we found these HUGE spiders called banana spiders. They were everywhere, we saw at least 100 of them, and we had to duck to miss some of the webs. After we were done we all felt like creepie crawlies all over us!

Matthew and Anna

More swamp. We were really sad we did not see any crocodiles

Matthew, Janie, Anna, Kate

They have a pool outside their backdoor, so we swam everyday!

We went to Gulf Port Beach and swam in the Gulf. The water was so warm. It was such a perfect day with the weather. Matthew really enjoyed the ocean!

August 1, 2009 Brandons Birthday Party

This year Brandon thought the pinata was Great!! He really got into it.

Diego Cake

The Train

Janie, Kate, Anna, and Ashlie

We had such a fun birthday for Brandon. We were able to have Grandma and Grandpa Bone, our friends from Dental school the Liddles, Grandpa and Grandma Wursten, Aunt Shauna and Emily, and the neighbors over. We started the morning by going to Tiny town. It's a place up the mountains a bit, and they just have little houses they put together for the kids to look at, a playground and of course for Brandon a train ride that only costs a dollar. The train conductor gave Brandon 2 free tickets because it was his B-day. He loved the ride! Then we came home and played, got ready for dinner and had a PARTY!! The kids loved the pinata, cake and presents. Thanks to everyone for the wonederful presents!

Milk snob?

Ok, so I never thought babies could be milk snobs, but I think I have one. Since about 2 months old we put kyle on soy formula. We decided to do the ready to feed stuff, since he had a sensitive stomach and It was so easy and quick. We tried to switch him over to powder since it is so much cheaper at around 5 months old, and he started spitting up really bad and just acted a little different. So back to ready to feed. Tried again about a month ago. He would not finish his bottle's, kept pulling them out and just acting different. So, you guessed it back to ready to feed. We tried AGAIN last week, and would not finish his bottle's etc.. So I bought the liquid gold again and he's back to downing his bottle's again. How can a baby really tell. They must taste a little different. Can't wait until he is 1, so we can save a lot of money and buy D milk.
