Matthew had such a great birthday. We started off the day by going to the mall, which he enjoys. We were picking out some school clothes. He of course got to go to the candy store. Then we came home and played a little, took some naps and we were off to Chuck E Cheeses. It's always so fun to go there. He had a blast with his friends and family. Then we came home for more presents, cake, and ice cream. Such a fun filled day. I can not believe he is 4 already.
Every day brandon thinks he needs to pull the DVD's down over and over. And me the sucker picks them up over and over again. Shows how well our kids train us. I guarantee in our new place they will not be in Brandon's sight. Also he loves to play in the sprinklers with the kids. I thought these pics were funny.
Yesterday was a big day for Ashlie. We are trying to potty train her and she finally went. YEA!! We will see how long this lasts, I fear she will take a while. If you have any tips please share. 1 in diapers would be GREAT.
So , on saturday Jeff and I ran a half marathon in preparation for the St. George marathon. Unfortunately we have no pictures because we had no camera with us. So you may not even believe me =) I was really really proud of both Jeff and I, because I have not been able to really train. I have been having some knee and ankle problems and so my longest run has been 4 miles. Jeff's longest was 5 miles. So we went out not really knowing what to expect. The race was beautiful and it was a nice sunny day, and we just kept going and going. My body felt great and before you knew it we were at mile 10. Yea only 3.1 more miles to go. About then, my ankle and feet starting to hurt and I wanted to stop so bad, but Jeff just kept pushing me and encouraging me to keep going. Thank you so much for that. It's so great that I was able to run with Jeff and that he didn't ditch me. Finally we finished with a time of 2 hrs and 10 min. We were so proud and amazed that we didn't have to stop once. Except for a bathroom break. It gave me a little more hope for the marathon in October, but we will see what my old body will let me do.
Matthew has been practicing really hard to learn his letters. The other day he wrote his name and cat for the first time. YEA!! I was so proud of him. It such a great thing to see your child so proud of what they accomplished. Last week matthew had a friend over to play and he decided to hit matthew in the head with a bat. At first he just got a big goose egg, but as the days went by, it has moved down to his eyes and under his eyes. His whole middle of his head was swollen it was really sad. It is starting to get better slowly. You really can't see the color of it on here, but he looks pretty funny.
We went camping this last weekend, and we came home and matthew grabbed the sleeping bags and started going down the stairs in his sleeping bag. I though it was cute because he did it all by his self. It's so cute to have matthew getting older because everything new he does is so cute, and it makes him seem so much older.
I can not believe brandon has turned 1 already. This year has gone very fast. Brandon has been a very challenging baby at times he is our first spit up, colicky baby, but he is such a joy to have around. I love this age because it really starts to show there personality. He is a big performer and loves to show off. He loves to to face plants on our bed and just roll and roll everywhere. He really loves his big brother and sister and loves to tackle them. Well I could go on forever. We had a fun little party with some family and friends, he did not like his cake though, he just crumbled it up and spit it out. Happy Birthday buddy we love you. Here is brandon enjoying a birthday sucker.
Jeff and I were married on June 16th, 2001 in the Salt Lake City Temple. We met at BYU during Jeff's last year of undergrad. I am a busy mom of 5 wonderful children who are very busy themselves. M is 11, A is 10, B is 8, K is 6 and L is 18 months . They are all doing well. We enjoy camping, rock climbing, running, canyoneering, and our new found sport of family bowling. We hope to have a fun and eventful year.
