Bring it on!

This morning we woke up to a nice spring surprise. School was cancelled and Jeff came home at noon. Everybody was sending employees home from work. It's crazy  to think earlier this week it was in the 70's.  I can't wait for this weekend until we leave for sunny St. George!! I just wanted to make you all jealous!

There's not as much snow here but there is some and it's freezing. I don't care either because we're off for sunny CA on Saturday!!!

Oh man... that's quite the storm. We (my work) have 3 offices in Colorado (Denver, Boulder and Co. Springs) and when we heard that all 3 of them were closing today (at 11:00 a.m.) and probably tomorrow, we were pretty jealous.

When it snows like that here in Salt Lake, they just tell us to stop whining and bring a shovel.

Yay for St. George!!

You know, because Denver is right by the rockies I sometimes figure they are just like Edmonton. However your story just reminds me how wrong I am.
Last I remember something similar happening in Edmonton, was when I was in grade 3 (so a good 20 years ago). When it started snowing, the school sent some kids home, but ONLY the ones that took public transit, so they could have some time to get home safe. The next day tons of people were snowed into their houses and couldn't get to work &/or school. But was anything closed? Oh no. And lucky me (and Randy) we had a mother who insisted we go to school and since we only lived a block away from the school, she bundled us up and walked us to school, where we were pretty much the only kids in our class (including teachers). I don't know who was in the school but they weren't in my class. It stayed like that for a couple days. One of my most unique weather memories.
I guess the moral of my story is consider yourself lucky, you could live somewhere where nothing ever closes. So enjoy the day off.
By the way, we had so much fun in the snow so enjoy even if it is the end of March.
